Product Manager, Fuel Additives - Virgin Forest Energy
November 26, 2018The company is a leading player in the downstream sector of the Nigerian oil industry with outlets and distribution capabilities for fuels nationwide. The company’s head office is based in Lagos but sells AGO, DPK and PMS to corporate clients nationwide.
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about customers. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.
LOCATION: LAGOS
Position summary
- Has responsibilities to manage from concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and finally product end of life for a new product the company is trying to launch.
- Delivers the operating plan: achievement of growth objectives including market share, revenue, profit and return on investment for all the channels/categories of business and/or key customers.
- Responsible for managing and implementing marketing activities through research, strategic planning and implementation.
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
- Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
- Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
- Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
- Work closely with the production team to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
- Drive product launch including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members and external consultants
- Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
- Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
- Drive profitable sales growth to ensure that product meets sales targets set
